Today I'm leaving Merritt Island, which has been one or my favorite areas of all time! I'm super sad to leave, but word on the street is that my new area Windermere is paradise!
Backtrack to what happened this week in Merritt Island, we got Barry Allen on date for baptism! We had a really spiritual and inspired lesson with him that turned to baptism. We got ridiculously bold with him and it went really well! His baptism will be November 28th. The day I finally started seeing some tangible success in this area, I got transferred! Funny how that works.
We did a TON of service this week. We helped with 7 moves and helped the Hendricks (the GOAT member family of the FOM) do some finishing touches on their new house. Sidenote: the Hendricks are so awesome that I refer to Sister Hendricks as mom and Brother Hendricks as Uncle Rob. Gonna miss then and the other great members in that area!
We had a SUPER awkward and hilarious interaction with this lady who looked EXACTLY like one of our investigators. The resemblance was UNCANNY. Long story short, we pulled up next to her in our car and awkwardly tried to make conversation with her, while slowly realizing it wasn't who we thought it was. After about 30 seconds of painful awkwardness we could tell she was creeped out and she dipped.
Today I got to Windermere and met my new companion Elder Johnson. Me and him are a lot alike and I feel like we're gonna get along really well! He's from Mesa, AZ and loves to ball.
Windermere is a really beautiful and wealthy area! Our apartment complex literally shares a wall with Universal studios! The Orlando temple is in our area and there's a few Brazilian markets and restaurants nearby.
A new zone has been created in the mission and Johnson and I get to be the zone leaders! Do we have any idea what we are doing? Nope. Do zone leaders really do anything anyway? Nope.
For p-day I got to play basketball with some real hoppers, including the boi himself Elder Isaac Burnett, a homie from high school!
