Wagwan from the dripstrict

Ok so I didn't send an email last week and I have no flipping idea what I said in my group email a few weeks ago, so this might be repetitive.

This past week was pretty dang productive. We finally have some new people to teach which is an answer to a lot of prayers. We were able to get three of the new people to church which was exciting but stressful.
We are teaching Bonzo, who's an old jamaican guy. His mind usually seems to be in a completely different dimension but he's got desires to learn about God and be baptized. Bonzo and I vibe simply because I used a few Jamaican slang words like 'wagwan' and 'irie' (some words I learned on a trip to Jamaica a while back lol).

My newish comp from Morgan, Utah Elder Cook is going back to his OG assignment in Fortaleza Brazil next week.
That means I'll most likely be staying in Windermere for another transfer. I've got a lot of really cool member homies here and the work is starting to pick up here so I'm excited.

A family named the Merkleys moved in and they're the biggest homies. They gave us food all the time and had us over for a family valentine's party. Their kids are chaotic and hilarious. We've been doing some work on their yard.

We had dinner with the Gaines family. We were talking for a while and then Sister Gaines casually dropped the news that Brother Gaines is a 3x Olympic gold medalist in swimming. So if you've heard of Rowdy Gaines, he's in our ward and makes some fire steak. He let me take some pics with his medals and gave us a signed book. He has a lot of stories about Charles Barkley because they went to the same college and Michael Jordan because they were in the Olympics together.

We had a zone conference and district council that both got me really hyped about missionary work. We talked about what we need to do to better listen to the spirit and follow the spirit. No conversion can take place without the spirit, whether it be our own conversion or the conversion of someone else.

Shopping

My new companion is Elder Cook from Morgan, Utah. He served in Fortaleza, Brazil for a little while before the pandemic.

They already found an apartment for the Olympia Creole elders, but having six Elders in our apartment for a week was a blast. It was insanely chaotic but there was always something funny happening.

The AP's are in our zone now, making us the most powerful ZL's in the entire FOM. Haha

We are having such a hard time finding new people to teach. We've seen some progression in some people but overall most of the people we are teaching are in some weird situations that prevent them from progressing.
Bonzo (a Jamaican guy) came to church and has said he wants to get baptized. It doesn't seem like he ever knows what's going on during lessons but pray for him that he'll be able to understand and prepare.

Congrats to Marli and Brandon on the wedding!!

Keep the Murset family in your prayers. They got in a car wreck and Jayson didn't make it. Pray that Brother Murset and Savana can heal quickly and that the whole family can be comforted. Jayson was such a lovable kid, such a light to others, and such a good hype man to me.
